This time of the year tends to lend itself so well to storytelling. One might say the tail of the year is for tales! The weather turns exciting; cold winds dancing with leaves, pigmented clouds, pastel dawns, the smell of impending snow. There is no better time to brew a pot of tea and curl up with a favourite book by an enthusiastic fire. It is a time for dreaming. I find myself especially drawn to fairytales, folklore and fantasy in this season and in experiencing the cozy slip into another realm that is all at once fascinating and dangerous, safe and perfect. Here are some drawings inspired by this feeling that I made to participate in the Folktale Week event on Instagram.
